Relax at Hisega Lodge
Room 3 is named for Ida McNeil of Pierre, South Dakota and provides the I in Hisega. As Doane Robinson’s secretary, she joined the expedition to the Black Hills in 1908. A pioneer in broadcasting, Ida owned a radio station for over 40 years. It is believed that she designed South Dakota’s flag.
Overlooking the creek on the front of the building, cozy and charming, this room has one queen-sized bed. Direct access to the porch including wooden rockers makes a perfect site for a nap or a glass of wine.
Ida is available for $139. Gourmet breakfast is included, and our tax is 6%.

Room 3 is named for Ida McNeill of Pierre, South Dakota. As Doane Robinson’s secretary, she joined the expedition to the Black Hills in 1908 and provided her first initial as the I in Hisega. Later, Ida owned the radio station in Pierre for 40 years, and personal anecdotes say she designed South Dakota’s flag.
This room is lovely, with queen-size bed and a window overlooking the creek on the front of the building. Direct access to the porch, as with the other upper rooms, makes for private entry and exit, and a wooden rocker at the railing in front of the door makes a perfect site for a nap or a glass of wine.
Ida is available year round and is warm and cozy in the winter.
